I haven’t come up with a better name, so it’s called the New Table.  The top is built of clear vertical grain Douglas Fir and the legs and rails of Walnut. When I was building the top, I counted the annular rings and I’m guessing the tree was around 400 years old.   29 1/2” tall, 46 1/2” wide, 15” deep.

A Douglas Fir and Walnut Table, or, “The New Table”

The Douglas Fir is what I’m calling “rescued” wood, it came from a open storage yard on Washington’s Olympic Peninsula, and had it stayed there much longer it may have deteriorated to unusable.  The table also features a small drawer, which is optional. To me, this table is a study in contrast, not only the color of the wood, but the the curves of the top and the angles of the legs.
